How to remove your soft contact lenses
To remove your soft contact lenses from your eyes you follow the folowing procedure. The first steps are the same as for the application of the lenses:
First wash your hands with a normal soap and you rinse them thoroughly.
You sit in front of a mirror, in a well illuminated room.
You raise your upper lid with your left hand (with one or two fingers) while you pull down the lower lid with the middle finger of your right hand.
Looking steadily at the center of the mirror, you approach slowly your eye with your right hands index and thumb, until you "pinch" the lens, folding it between your fingers and pull it out.
Right after the removal you place the contct lens in the case with the cleaning liquid that you use, according to the instructions of your optometrist.
Troubleshooting
If you feel uncofortable when you wear the lens like a cut you may
:
Α. Have place the lens in your eye with the wrong side. Remove
it and place it with the right side on your eye.
Β. A foreign body might have entered between the lens and
your eye like a little pile from a tow. Remove the lens, rinse it
with a saline solution and refit it on your eye.
If you feel uncofortable when you wear the lens like a sting
or burn :
Α. There might be an incomplete cleaning of the lens. Usually
with the cleaning products tht use perroxide (like Oxysept, Novasept)
there is a minimum of time that is required to be deactivated. If
you are not sure about this amount of time you can ask an expert.
Meanwhile remove the lens and rinse it thoroughly with a saline
solution.
Β. Remains of soap might have been transferred from your
hands on the lens and in your eye. Remove the lens and rinse our
eye thoroughly with saline solution. Then rinse the lens with the
same saline solution and try again.
Γ. You might be allergic to one of the igredients of the
lens cleaning product that you use. Get an advise from an expert
who can decide if that is tha case and if neccessary he will advise
you to change your lens cleaning system.
